Willow Springs, CA - Big Bore Bash - November 10th & 11th
Are you dreading the upcoming shopping spectacle? Need a post Halloween trick-or-treat? Or do you just need to getaway from LA for a day? If any the above ring true for you, we may have your solution.
Come to Willow Springs on Saturday or Sunday, November 10th and 11th. Enjoy a day of classic and vintage car racing nestled in the hills above Lancaster. Michelle and Chris will both be racing, and there will be an additional 175 other beautiful cars to see. If you get there before noon, you can drive your truck, cars or suv around the race track at lunch and get a taste of why we do what we do.
The event is called VARA’s Big Bore Bash, it’s held Saturday and Sunday at Willow Springs International Raceway. We will be hosting drinks and hor d'eourves on Saturday after racing (approx. 5pm). Racing starts at 8am and ends at 5pm with the lunch time drive around at noon.
Both Chris and Michelle will be racing. Chris races a green/blue/white 72' Datusn 240Z and this will be his first debut with the new paint job (hence no picture). Chris will race with other Datsun 240Zs, Porsches, Alfa Romeos, and more. Michelle races a 70' Datsun 510 that is white with a green Escher type stripe. Michelle will race with other 510s, BMW2, Porsches, MGs and more.
The fee at the gate is $10 per person for the entire weekend. There is a practice session for each of us in the morning and then races in the afternoon. If you arrive before noon, there is a noon-time drive around that cost $20 and is donated to charity. (If you really want to give, there is also a Toys for Tots drive.) There will also be all sorts of other cool cars that we born no later than 1972. The feature race will be with big bore cars; Mustangs, Cameros, Corvettes, old Nascars and more.
Willow Springs is about 15 minutes past Lancaster off of the 14. The track has a great place to see the whole race at the top of a hill. For directions on how to get to Willow Springs, click here.
